About

I am a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and a member of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). My research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their applications to scientific discovery.

Prior to joining MIT, I was an Assistant Professor at Stanford University (2010-2015) and received my Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009. I am a recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship (2018), NSF CAREER Award (2016), and Sloan Research Fellowship (2017).
